
In 1932, in the village of Billund, Denmark, the carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen invented the famous LEGO bricks in wood. In 1932 a fire scattered on the ground the factory so it was decided to abandon the production of wood to focus on plastics and the LEGO bricks becomes in nitrocellulosa. In 1963, the nitrocellulose is replaced by plastic ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) not toxic and not flammable which is still used today. The main factories of LEGO is in Danemark but there are others factories in Brazil, Switzerland and China. Lego are exported in 130 countries by plane and trucks. In all over the world you can buy LEGO in toy stores and when you become an adult you can give it to more children because the bricks are very durable.
