Organic, chlorine-free, washable wool. This knit (jersey or interlock) fabric is made with low-micron merino wool grown and cerified to the USDA’s National Organic Program standard and processed to the Oeko-Tex 100 standard through the shrink treatment process. This organic washable wool is offered as 100% wool or a blend of 55% wool and 45% organic cotton. Under a microscope, raw wool fiber appears to be covered in scales. These scales are gently removed through a process that uses non-toxic hydrogen peroxide. Compared to most washable wool which is scoured with chlorine to remove the scales and coated with synthetic resins, this process leaves the wool with a soft hand, strong fibers, naturally shrink and odor resistant, has superior moisture management and is insulative. Sold in rolls 50 yd (45.72 m) in length with a range of widths from 58 to 65 in (1473.2 to 1651 mm) and weights of 150, 230 or 250 g/m2 (4.425, 6.785 or 7.375 oz/yd2). ECO DESIGN

The positive and sustainable in this sitting called "Cabbage chair" are many. First of all it is created from a waste material (and that alone is a very important factor) but it is important to note also that the creation of Cabbage chair not been used or elements to stiffen the structure, or glues, or screws. The zig-zag structure of the paper, in fact, gives a strong form of rigidity (increased by the treatment to which the resin sheets are submitted) together with an effective "cushion" gave elasticity of folded sheets.

ECO DESIGN

Products Verterra, mostly plates and trays are stylish and versatile and are having a sustainable message extremely intense. These products are made from the dried leaves of the trees (the ones that are usually shelved by the roadside before being burned). Verterra transforms these materials to "scrap" items into raw materials for the high aesthetic value and sustainable.
For the production of these products uses only steam and a press to squeeze the most of the leaves (precedentempente sterilized by UV). 80% of all water used for the production process is captured and reused to produce additional steam.

CRADLE TO CRADLE

Cradle to Cradle Design (sometimes abbreviated to C2C or in some circles referred to as regenerative) is a biomimetic approach to the design of systems. It models human industry on nature's processes in which materials are viewed as nutrients circulating in healthy, safe metabolisms. It suggests that industry must protect and enrich ecosystems and nature's biological metabolism while also maintaining safe, productive technical metabolism for the high-quality use and circulation of organic and synthetic materials. Put simply, it is a holistic economic, industrial and social framework that seeks to create systems that are not just efficient but essentially waste free.[1] The model in its broadest sense is not limited to industrial design and manufacturing; it can be applied to many different aspects of human civilization such as urban environments, buildings, economics and social systems.

DEFINITION
- Cradle to Cradle phrase; essentially a play on the "Cradle to Grave" phrase, implying that the C2C model is sustainable and considerate of life in general.
- Technical nutrients are basically inorganic or synthetic materials manufactured by humans--such as plastics and metals--that can be used many times over without any loss in quality, staying in a continuous cycle.
- Biological nutrients and materials are organic materials that can decompose into the natural environment, soil, water, etc. without affecting it in a negative way, providing food for bacteria and microbiological life.
- Materials are usually referred to as the building blocks of other materials, such as the dyes used in colouring fibers or rubbers used in the sole of a shoe.
- Downcycling is a term used to describe what is conventionally known as recycling, which is seen as "downcycling" materials into lesser products, a plastic computer housing becomes a plastic cup, which then becomes a park bench, eventually becoming waste.
- Waste Food is a basic concept of organic waste materials becoming food for bugs, insects and other small forms of life who can feed on it, decompose it and return it to the natural environment which we then indirectly use for food ourselves.

THE STORY OF LEGO BRICKS

In 1932, in the village of Billund, Denmark, the carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen invented the famous LEGO bricks in wood. In 1932 a fire scattered on the ground the factory so it was decided to abandon the production of wood to focus on plastics and the LEGO bricks becomes in nitrocellulosa. In 1963, the nitrocellulose is replaced by plastic ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) not toxic and not flammable which is still used today. The main factories of LEGO is in Danemark but there are others factories in Brazil, Switzerland and China. Lego are exported in 130 countries by plane and trucks. In all over the world you can buy LEGO in toy stores and when you become an adult you can give it to more children because the bricks are very durable.
